Use the following guidelines when creating your design:

1. Go to the Printing Templates page and download the template for the product you wish to order. Templates are in post script format.

The template contains 3 lines:
  • A dashed pink line - This is the safety zone. Please keep all copy(text) within this border.
  • A solid black line - This is the cut line and is the border for your finished product.
  • A dashed green line - This is the bleed line. All images that print to the edge of your finished product should be extended out to this line.

2. Add your graphics, keeping the template on a separate layer. (You will need to delete the template from your file before sending.)

  • All images should be 300dpi (.eps or .tiff are preferred). Do not use .bmp images to create your file because they will not print correctly.
  • File should be created in CMYK - no spot colors please!
  • For the best quality, 8pt or larger text is recommended. (100% black will be readable at 6pt)

3. Save your file for upload.

We can accept native files from the following programs:
  • Adobe Illustrator CS
  • Adobe Photoshop CS
  • Adobe InDesign CS
  • Macromedia Freehand MX
  • Quark Xpress 6.0
  • Artpro 8.0
  • Microsoft Publisher (please send a one up of the file not a printer spread)
For most efficient service, save the file as a pdf.
  • File can be built using any software, even those not listed above.
  • Remove template layer before saving.
  • Check pdf settings before saving : 1/8" bleed, 300dpi, color set at CMYK. Do not compress file.
  • Do not save as printers spreads.

4. Upload your file.

  • Choose Upload Your Own Design from the product page.
  • Login to your personal account, if you have not done so already.
  • Find and upload your file.
  • ONLY upload artwork for ONE order at a time. DO NOT upload all of the artwork at once. Example: If you have two orders for business cards and they each have their own artwork, choose your product specifications for the first order. Then upload your art file for the first order. After uploading, add product to your shopping cart. Repeat the steps for the second product.
